David Trujillo, born in Silver City and now residing in Los Alamos, NM, is inspired by the outdoors, fascinating people, and new places. His scrap metal art brings life to old metal parts. He has a special connection with rocks – from a simple river stone that is nice to hold in your hand to keep your mind off of other things, to the tomahawk that was sculpted by native Americans hundreds of years ago, to the several tons of rock that he found, carried and built a medieval tower from. The majority of his metal scrap art typically includes his signature rock. Together, this fusion of welded metal and natural rock, create a unique union in every piece. If you look at one long enough, it will tell you its own story.
